Polartronic series Automatic Digital Circle Polarimeters
Polartronic polarimeters determine the optical activity of a solution by means of a rotating analyzer linked to an optical encoder. A special feature of the Schmidt & Haensch design is their high speed and accuracy. This is because of the direct linking of the polarizing analyzer to an optical position encoder, a technique originally patented by Schmidt+Haensch. This technique completely eliminates the linearity errors associated with other types of mechanical linkage and ensures that the accuracy is constant across the full range of the instrument. The Polartronics are designed for continuous measurement operation so that it is never necessary to return to a start or zero position in order to initiate a new measurement.
Comprehensive user interface
The control panel of the unit includes a numeric keyboard, function buttons and an 8 line LCD display. In the main display you see immediately, the sample ID, the measured rotation, time, date, temperature, wavelength and tube size. You can change parameters from this control panel - for example change scale, change wavelength, enter a sample ID, print the results. You can also format the printout and the display itself.

Range of polarimeter tubes
Polartronics work with all standard Polarimeters tubes as well as continuous flow tubes, micro tubes and temperature controlled tubes. There is a connection at the back of the sample compartment where the temperature sensors are plugged into the instruments electronics. Using this feature the polarimeter can make automatic temperature compensation. We have special tubes for temperature measurement and small tubes for precious samples. Multi Wavelength Polarimeters

The model HHW5 and HNQW5 include 5 different measurement wavelengths. The wavelengths are produced by a Halogen lamp and filters in the HHW5 and by Sodium and Mercury emission lamps and filters in the HNQW5. Wavelength is selected from the control panel and the correct lamp and filter are automatically activated by the electronics.
In addition the MH8 is available with two wavelengths (change manually) - MHW2.
Also HH8 and MH8 single wavelength Polarimeters are available with a different
interference filter for any wavelength in the range 350 - 900 nm instead of the standard 589 nm.
