Pack Check Non Destructive Leak Detection
for MAP packages with CO2

Pack Check is a non destructive leak detection system for MAP packages containing Carbon dioxide. The Pack Check system is extremely sensitive. It is easier to use and much more effective than bubble tests.

Features of the Pack Check System:

Extremely sensitive even to the smallest seal defect
The Pack Check works by subjecting the package under test to a controlled pressure difference in a sealed chamber. If the package is leaking then a small amount of the carbon dioxide in the package will leak into the chamber. The proprietary CO2 detector used in the Pack Check can sense a change in concentration within the test chamber of even a few ppm. This makes the instrument extremely fast and sensitive even to small leaks.

Easy to use - train your operators in less than 5 minutes
The Pack Check system is very easy to use. It can be configured for an operator who has no knowledge of the workings of instrument. The operator simply inserts the package into the chamber and closes the lid. The Pack Check tests the package according to settings that have been previously programmed in by a supervisor. The Pack Check records the test result in memory and lets the operator know if the package was good (green light) or bad (red light). Its that simple. Even setting up the instrument is easy - all the supervisor has to do is follow the instructions in the simple menu interface on the LCD display.

Non Destructive Saves time - increases yield
Packages that pass the Pack Check test can be returned to the line. There is no damage to the packaged or its content - no moisture - no harsh treatment.

Visual inspection of package during test
A unique feature of the Pack Check is the transparent lid which allows the operator to watch the package during a test. In addition to leak testing this is particularly useful for determining what happens to the package under extreme stresses. The Pack Check can be used as a seal integrity tester whereby the package in stressed in increments of pressure difference and the operator can observe the deformation and destruction of the package under these conditions. You could for example simulate what happens to your package as it passes over the Rockies. ( at 12000 feet altitude the atmospheric pressure is only 650 mbar. At this altitude your package must endure a 350 mbar pressure differential.)

Large test chamber for single or batch testing
The Pack Check has a large test chamber so that you can accommodate large packages such as wholesale packs or insert and test more than one small package at a time. Of course batch testing won't tell you which package is leaking in the batch, but it can be a safeguard for important runs such as sales samples where you want to certain that every package is a good one.

Store setup information for many products
A given product is set up in the Pack Check with a test program. This test program determines the duration and severity of the test and sets up the leak levels that will be considered acceptable or unacceptable for that particular product. Different products or package types will require different testing scenarios. These test programs are made by the supervisor and can be password protected from the operator. The Pack Check can store up to 10 such programs.

Built in record keeping for faultless QA records
The Pack Check has a built in memory, and data logger. It can store the set up information for up to 10 different products and for each product type it can gather test data in 10 different batches. The results of every test for each batch are collated and stored and can be printed out or downloaded to a computer on the RS232 data link. They can also be viewed at any time on the LCD display panel.

Clean design for the food manufacturing environment
From its clean stainless steel construction to the easy to wipe membrane control panel the Pack Check was designed for the food industry. The instrument is mounted on large lockable castors so that it can be moved about the plant or from line to line. There are already more than one hundred Pack Checks in use world wide in the food industry.
