Introduction
The Horiba Cardy use a sodium ion electrode to produce accurate salt measurements regardless of the sample pH or the presence of other ions. The result is automatically temperature compensated and converted to salt content (wt% NaCl). The Cardy is easy to use - you can place a drop of sample liquid or a small piece of sample directly on the flat detection surface. You can also use sampling sheets to wipe a surface and then place the sheet on the detector.
The instrument is supplied with fitted case containing the Cardy and the supplies you need to start making measurements.
Applications
Ideal for soup, ketchup, mayonnaise, Worcester sauce, squeezed juice of pickles, etc.. wipes of exposed metal surface..Solids and powders can be measured by the extraction method - grind up the sample and dilute 10:1 to make a solution. The Cardy is very small and handy device not much bigger than a credit card. It is ideal as a personal monitor for a QC person or technician but we would not recommend it for production use because of its small size and delicate construction.
