NEW PRODUCT
Headspace analyzer for Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide
works on line with packaging machines.
Topac introduces the PBI MapCheck a new digital headspace analyzer for monitoring the residual 
oxygen and oxygen/carbon dioxide in modified atmosphere packaging systems. The MapCheck 
can be set up on any packaging systems so that it draws a gas sample from the mouth of the 
package just before the package is sealed. The sample gas is passed sequentially through a special 
zirconia oxygen detector and then into a miniature IR detector for carbon dioxide. The analysis is 
very quick and the results are displayed on an LCD display. The instrument is self-contained and 
includes everything needed for the analysis of gas flushing streams in modified atmosphere 
packaging and similar applications.  A special feature of the MapCheck is its built in data logging 
which automatically records the gas analysis as the packages are tested. The MapCheck can also 
perform off line headspace measurements by means of a sample probe needle, which is used with 
a septum to draw a small sample from the finished product.
The MapCheck is available as an oxygen only unit or as a combined Oxygen/Carbon Dioxide 
Analyzer.  It covers the range 0- 100 % for both oxygen and carbon dioxide.
