Model 6350 pH Conductivity Salinity meter
Portable and battery operated the Jenco 6350 is a completely self contained instrument for checking temperature, pH, conductivity and salinity in the field or in the laboratory.
The Conductivity meter can work with cells of different cell constants by programming the cell constant in the menu. The standard cell constant is 1.0

Microsiemens (uS) (same as micromhos) is the unit for measuring conductivity and is used to approximate the total dissolved solids content of water. Water with 100mg/L of NaCl has a conductance of 212 uS/cm

Cell Constant
The resistance of a solution between the electrodes of a conductivity cell is a function not only of the conductance of the solution but also the volume of conducting solution between the electrodes. The volume is the distance between the electrodes ( l ) x the electrode area (A). The ratio l/A is called the Cell Constant. The most commonly used cells have a Cell Constant of 1 but other cells are available with different cell constants as shown in the table below.
