E3 Point Toxic/Combustible Gas Monitor
  • Advanced Sensing Technology:
  • Detects CO, NO2, O2, H2, H2S, CH4, C3H8
  • Wall or duct Mount
  • Advanced electrochemical (for toxic gases)and catalytic bead (for combustible gases) sensor performance
  • Comes in standalone (shown here), standalone with remote or network versions
  • Connects to analog or digital systems
  • Works with virtually any BAS including BACnet, Modbus or LonWorks
  • Connects to wired or wireless system (via 301CW wireless controller)
  • Cost Effective:
  • Saves energy through Demand Control Ventilation (DCV)
  • Remote sensor option provides dual gas monitoring (standalone version only)
  • Optimizes BAS, fire, ventilation and other security systems
  • Versatile Communications:
  • Works through BAS to improve fault diagnostics and collect data on gas concentration levels, sensor condition, etc.
  • Couple with 301C to log data and daisy-chain up to 96 E3Point units

The E3Point detects a wide range of toxic and combustible gases found in commercial building spaces and outdoor buildings, including CO, NO2, O2, H2, H2S, CH4 and C3H8. It can be used as a standalone unit with single or dual-gas detection (i.e. using a remote sensor), or deployed as a networkable device (interoperable with BACnet, Lonworks or other Building Automation System); E3Point also functions with existing controller-based gas monitoring systems and wired or wireless gas monitoring system components.

E3Point uses Demand Control Ventilation through relays, Building Automation System (BAS) or controller in order to increase energy savings, extend fan life, and align with practices of green building. In its network configuration, E3Point also optimizes HVAC, fire/smoke, surveillance, and other building systems performance.

Intelligent product design reduces the unit’s cost of ownership while increasing flexibility of application. Smart sensors are pre-calibrated, auto-configured upon set-up and operate continuously on patented Reflex© technology which continuously monitors sensor cell condition and alerts user to fault status. The plug-n-play sensor cartridge, user-friendly menu and wiring options simplify installation and maintenance, and reduce the cost of gas monitoring over the life of the unit.

Installation
Locating the Sensor:
Since the E3 Point units are shipped with custom network diagrams that indicate the best locations for installation, the remaining considerations are installation height and detection objectives. IF the primary application is the fastest possible leak detection, mount the sensor near the ptential leak sources. As a result, the indicated concentration may not be representative of personnel exposure, and easy access for the required calibration and maintenance can be compromised.

Air Currents:
If there are fans, wind , or other sources of air movement, gases may tend to rise or collect in certain areas of a facility. The local air currents should be assessed to aid in selecting the sensor location. Air convection can often be more important in determining gas concentration areas than factors of vapor density.

Gas Emission Sources:
As a rule, at least one sensor shouold be located in close proximity to each point where an emission is likely to occur.

COMB Most combustibles are heavier than air, with the exception of methane, hydrogen, ethylene and acetylene. Sensors for gases that are heavier than air should be installed approximately 30 cm (1ft.) from the floor. For combustibles that are lighter than air, sensors should be installed 30 cm (1ft.) from the ceiling, close to the potential leak source.
* May differ in certain applications. Hot NO2 from exhaust systems is lighter than ambient air.
